A Few of Our 85 Completed Projects LNT A-BOX 175,000m³ LNG Carrier Design (September 2022) Working with Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI), LNT Marine has scaled up its LNT A-BOX containment system to an Atlantic max size of 175,000m3 LNGC, with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) granting the design an approval in principle in May this year. Increasing the capacity by 300% from the 45,000m3 design first installed on the pioneering ABS-classed LNGC Saga Dawn, the new design includes learnings from the construction as well as ongoing successful operation of Saga Dawn, now renamed LNG Jia Xing. Saga Dawn (January 2020) Mid-scale LNG carrier for local and regional distribution of LNG. The “LNT45 design” was developed by LNT Marine in cooperation with Saga LNG Shipping and FKAB. The vessel was built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co.,Ltd. and classed by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). LNT Marine developed the concept design and specifications for the complete vessel, and all design and engineering for the containment system including, cargo tanks, cargo tank support system, insulation & secondary barrier system, and safety & auxiliary systems. LNT Marine also supplied the materials for the insulation & secondary barrier system, as well as a project management and supervision team for the construction and installation of the containment system. Gas Carrier Insulation Crowley Progress (February 2024) For TGE Marine Engineering, Germany and Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, USA, we completed in February 2024 an in-ship spray foam insulation project of a 5000 m³ type C bi-lobe LNG tanks for the Jones act bunker barge “Progress” ordered by Crowley Maritime. The barge will provide LNG to amongst other cruise ships operating to and from US ports. Avenir 7, 500m3 LNG bunkering vessels This is a series of 2+2 x 7,500m3 LNG bunkering vessels initially ordered by Stolt-Nielsen at Keppel Nantong. The vessels will be owned and operated by Avenir LNG, a JV between Stolt-Nielsen, Golar LNG and Höegh LNG. The vessels are designed by MES, and the two cylindrical cargo tanks (type C) are built at Gas&Heat Spa. in Italy. LNT Marine supplies the insulation for the cargo tanks and the main job is executed at Gas&Heat’s premises in Italy, before shipment to Keppel for installation onboard the vessels. The vessels are classed by DNV GL. Class 10/12,000m3 LNG/LEG/LPG carriers Norgas Innovation and its sisters in I.M.Skaugen’s series of Mulitgas (10,000m3) and Ultragas (12,000m3) was built in Taizhou Wuzhou Shipbuilding and AVIC Ding Heng Shipyard in China. LNT Marine (MGI) provided the cargo tank insulation system in cooperation with Finetec. The vessels were fitted with two type C cylindrical cargo tanks and classified by GL. Golar Frost / FSRU Tocana The 135,000m3 Moss type LNG carrier Golar Frost was converted to a FSRU and renamed FSRU Toscana, which is now stationed offshore Livorno on the Italian west coast. The conversion was carried out in Dubai Drydocks World backed by Saipem. LNT Marine was contracted to renew the cargo tank to “Zero hour service” condition. The work conversion was classed by RINA. Mitsui OSK Moss LNG Carriers LNT Marine has completed cargo tank insulation repair on MOL OSK Lines’ carriers Grand Mereya and Marvel Eagle. The vessels were repaired during drydock in Singapore and China. Nigeria LNG (NSML) Moss LNG Carriers LNT Marine has completed cargo tank insulation repairs during drydocking of NSML’s carriers LNG Akwa Ibom, LNG Cross River, LNG River Niger, LNG Sokoto, LNG Bayelsa and LNG Adamawa. The vessels were drydocked in Dubai and Singapore. Fuel Tank Systems AIDAnova The AidaNova was the first ship in a series of new 180,000 GRT cruise vessels for Carnival Corporation powered by LNG. The vessels are built at Meyer Werft in Germany. Each vessel has three (3) cylindrical LNG fuel tanks (type C), and LNT Marine supplies its proprietary thermal insulation system for the cruise and passenger segment with enhanced fire safety. The vessels are classed by RINA. Icon Of The Seas Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas is the world's largest cruiseship. The vessels are designed to carry frozen and cooled products, including frozen fish, citrus fruits and potatoes. The vessels are classed by Bureau Veritas (BV). Carmel Ecofresh Initial design by 3rd party. None-optimal solutions and compromises had to be made. Insulation thickness insufficient in some areas. Thermal bridges in some locations impossible to avoid. Overall, acceptable K-value, but not the best solution in terms of mechanical strength and easy maintenance. 6 insulated decks, 18 separate refrigated chambers. Approx 50 x 22 x 18m “black hole” separated by a midship bulkhead. MGIT responsible for all construction in the black hole. Construction of monorail crane (for installation logistics) fitted on H-beam in top deck ceiling. Tranversal steel H-beams, fitted individually. “Deck-flats” – deck pontooons of steelstructure, pre-insulated by MGIT – fitted individually Dole America Seawater damage in two complete cargo holds. Total re-insulation was done in 28 days from start of work until loading of cargo. Work was done on 24 h shift with 130 persons. Total stripping all insulation in two cargo holds (0n 8 decks). Insulation and lining of tanktop. Insulation and lining of shipssides and bulkheads. Insulation and lining under deck. Installation of air cooler units. Installation of aluminum gratings. Back
